Greeneville, TN, August 01, 2025 – TEVET Founder and CEO Tracy Solomon has been recognized with the prestigious HUBZone Trailblazer Award for Community Impact, a national honor that celebrates leadership in revitalizing underserved communities through business innovation, job creation, and civic engagement.
This recognition is a testament to Solomon’s unwavering dedication to the HUBZone mission and to the transformative role TEVET has played both locally in East Tennessee and nationally across the federal contracting space.
What began in his basement in 2004 has grown into a powerhouse of innovation headquartered in Greeneville, TN, a federally designated HUBZone. Under Solomon’s leadership, TEVET has become the largest federal reseller of test and measurement equipment worldwide, supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and major aerospace and defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, and BAE Systems.
With cutting-edge technology like the LIBERTY EW Platform, TEVET has advanced electromagnetic warfare capabilities critical to national security. Their in-house TEVET Marketplace is now deployed in federal labs and contractor facilities across the U.S., streamlining procurement and setting the gold standard for small business innovation.
Solomon spearheaded the acquisition and revitalization of a 150,000 square-foot facility in Greeneville that had been vacant for a decade and now houses TEVET’s headquarters, warehouse, and Systems Integration Lab. This $4M investment has created technical career paths in IT, engineering, and logistics, and helped anchor the local economy.
Through the LIBERTY Platform and TEVET’s state-of-the-art Systems Integration Lab, the company champions STEM education, veteran hiring, and supplier diversity. Strategic partnerships with small and veteran-owned businesses empower these firms to integrate into federal supply chains and collaborate on solutions for agencies such as NASA and the Department of Homeland Security. Additionally, a women-owned business operates within a dedicated portion of TEVET’s 150,000-square-foot warehouse facility, further advancing economic opportunity and inclusion.
Solomon also led several Greeneville community-focused initiatives that included:
- Hosting TEVET’s 2024 Annual Meeting in Greeneville, contributing $45K+ to the local economy during their conference week.
- Supporting Wreaths of Remembrance, Hurricane Helene relief efforts, and local COVID-19 response through logistics and supply donations.
- Awarding $22K+ in scholarships to Greeneville High School JROTC cadets since 2012.
Solomon’s commitment to community revitalization is exemplified by his leadership in restoring Greeneville’s historic Capitol Theatre. Thanks to his efforts, the venue was transformed into a vibrant cultural hub that now welcomes over 8,000 attendees annually for films, live performances, and educational programming. Additionally, as a board member of Holston Home for Children, Solomon played a key role in raising $6 million to construct a campus church. His ongoing support has extended to impactful initiatives serving youth with disabilities and individuals in addiction recovery.
As a long-standing HUBZone-certified business since 2007, TEVET is a role model for how federal contractors can blend innovation with deep-rooted civic purpose. Tracy Solomon’s leadership as a conference speaker, panelist, and advocate continues to amplify the HUBZone voice both locally and nationally.
This Trailblazer Award doesn’t just celebrate Tracy Solomon and TEVET’s achievements, it affirms a legacy of service, innovation, and unwavering commitment to country, customer, and community.
