Honoring the Fallen and Our Veterans

TEVET Honors National Military Appreciation Month

May marks Military Appreciation Month — a national reminder to honor our military community’s service, sacrifice, and strength. At TEVET, this month isn’t just symbolic. It reflects who we are, how we operate, and why we exist.

Our founder, Tracy Solomon, served in the U.S. Navy during the Gulf War, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, both Purple Heart recipients. That legacy of service runs through the entire company, from the people we hire to the programs we support. TEVET is proud to be a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and HUBZone-certified small business, grounded in the belief that service to country doesn’t end with active duty — it evolves into community, mission, and purpose.

Throughout May, we reflect on the lives lost in defense of our nation. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it’s a moment to pause and honor the men and women who gave everything. Their courage and sacrifice continue to protect the freedoms we often take for granted. We also recognize the quiet strength of military families: the spouses who manage life during deployments, the children who grow up with grit and adaptability, and the caregivers who support veterans long after they return home.

The impact and responsibility to give back remain even after military service ends. At TEVET, that belief drives how we hire, serve, and show up in our hometown and beyond. From logistics to quality control, IT to sales, we continue to bring veterans into meaningful careers where their experience is valued and their leadership matters.

But our commitment doesn’t stop at our doors. TEVET actively supports veteran organizations throughout East Tennessee, including the local chapters of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Marine Corps League, as well as our local Wreaths Across America Event. Whether through monetary gifts or volunteer time, we stay engaged year-round.

Military Appreciation Month is a reminder that freedom has a cost — one paid by service members and their families every day. At TEVET, we work to honor that sacrifice not just through words, but through action: hiring veterans, supporting our community, and making the complicated easy for our customers in defense, aerospace, and national security.

To all who serve — in uniform and at home — and to those we’ve lost: we remember you, honor you, and are grateful beyond measure.
